Chambers of Commerce from throughout the Sheffield City Region have launched a ten-point plan for transport developments to boost economic growth.

The Chambers’ Sheffield City Region Transport Forum is calling for the region to get the same funding for transport projects as other regions, as well as further investment for plans to build a link from the motorway network to Robin Hood Airport and improved rail investment.

The Forum wants to see funding for a high speed rail link and the electrification of the Midland and East Coast Mainlines, as well as improved rail access to areas such as the Humber Ports, Grimsby, Liverpool and Manchester.

Sheffield Chamber Transport Forum chairman, Tim Hale, said: “The ten-point plan is the Chambers’ collective priorities for the area which we will be putting forward to the Local Enterprise Partnership board.”
