Kier Sheffield’s gas technical training centre is celebrating training 6,000 local people in 10 years.
The Manor Lane centre started training Kier’s own staff and now provides training and assessment services for trades people across the city.
The 6,000th person through the doors was Kevin Pinder, who runs Kevin Pinder Plumbing and Heating and was there to keep his own certification up to date.
“The Kier training centre provides a great resource to local businesses and trades people who are required to renew their relevant industry recognised qualifications with a reliable and trustworthy provider,” said Mr Pinder, who received a rebate on his fees to mark the occasion.
“Without this training and the assessment certificate I wouldn’t be able to register with Gas Safe and therefore would not be able to work.”
n Sheffield’s conveyancing lawyers are ‘at boiling point’ with HSBC over changes which are costing them a fortune.
