International business development organisation UK Trade and Investment Yorkshire and Humber has moved to Barnsley Digital Media Centre.
The Government department that helps companies that want to do business around the world, has moved its customer relationship team and 20-strong team of international trade advisers to the £10.5 million flagship business and innovation centre in the centre of Barnsley.
Philip Kelly, international trade manager at UKTI Yorkshire and Humber, said UKTI had been impressed with the centre’s facilities, the “vibrancy of the office” and the fact that it suited UKTI’s needs more closely.
“Importantly, Barnsley is the ideal location for the team at UKTI Yorkshire and Humber. Our services reach across the whole of the region so we needed an accessible and central location. With international trade advisers delivering services to companies from Hull to Huddersfield, Skipton to Sheffield, Barnsley provides the ideal location from which to base the team,” said Mr Kelly.
UKTI Yorkshire and Humber was based at Capitol Court, in Dodworth, which it shared with Business Link Yorkshire until the Government closed down the local business support organisation, along with others around the country.
