Companies from across the Sheffield City Region have been urged to look at opportunities for trade with Thailand.

DLA Piper lawyer Roger Gough told delegates attending a seminar at the Sheffield offices of the global law firm that Thailand was the second largest economy in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and offered extensive opportunities for Yorkshire-based enterprises.

Mr Gough said one of the obvious areas of synergy between South Yorkshire and Thailand was the manufacturing sector, which accounted for about a third of Thailand’s GDP.
