SHEFFIELD United will be backed by more than 27,000 fans as they bid to follow cross-city rivals Sheffield Wednesday and secure promotion to the Championship.
By the start of business today, the Blades had already sold more than 27,000 tickets for the League One play-off final against Huddersfield Town at Wembley on Saturday.
And United fans are set to heavily outnumber opposition supporters at the game.
Huddersfield said today they had sold about 20,000 of their allocation of 33,169 tickets in the west end of the stadium.
The Blades have been allocated 39,843 tickets in the east end of the national stadium and tickets are now on general sale.
Tickets for Blades fans were priced from £34 to £88, with concessions paying half price.
However, the club said it had sold out of £88 tickets and £54 tickets were strictly limited.
The club said travel tickets on the official train and coaches were also still available, ‘but strictly limited’.
