A TASTE of Thailand is coming to the site of a former South Yorkshire colliery.

The Thai Garden Café is the latest food outlet to lease a unit at Onward Holdings’ new Onyx Retail Park, on the former Manvers Main colliery site, joining sandwich chain Subway, bakery store group Greggs and takeaway pizza business Domino’s.

The café is the brainchild of Sheffield house builder Paul Hague and his wife Uma, who reckon they have found an ideal place for their first venture into the food trade.

Onyx Retail Park comprises 17,500 square feet of prime retail space and is part of a 285 acre site for mixture of retail and leisure development as well as a further 1,100 new homes.
