Shoppers at Tesco have been posting pictures of the bargains they have been snatching up inside the supermarket, after a price glitch at the checkouts has given them £3 meal deals for as little as 4p.

A technical error at the tills seems to be applying the discount to the three items – which includes a sandwich, snack and a drink – twice and making the lunchtime deal drastically cheaper.

One customer posted a picture of their receipt on twitter, which showed how their sandwich, crisps and beverage had only cost them 4p after the £3 meal deal saving was applied twice by mistake.

The shopper said in a tweet: “@Tesco Every little helps 'n all that, but I'm sure the meal deal discount coming off twice is a glitch rather than you guys 'helping'. Don't say no one told you . @tesconews #tesco #EveryLittleHelps #ButThatsAlotOfHelp #BeardosMedia”

Another customer was also awarded the £3 meal deal discount twice which allowed them to purchase their lunch for a bargain at just £1.26.

Ben’s tuna sandwich, monster drink and monster munch crisps should have set him back £4.38 but the glitch almost cut the price of the deal in half.
