YOUNGSTERS from three Doncaster schools are in the running for a top award.
Teams from McAuley School in Cantley, Armthorpe School and Danum School in Intake are among the finalists in the running for winning Young Enterprise in South Yorkshire.
Business men and women from across South Yorkshire will join them at an event at Castle Park, on Armthorpe Road, on Thursday to mark the achievements of those who have taken part.
The annual awards ceremony marks the culmination of the Young Enterprise Programme for the academic year, showcasing the range of businesses set up and managed by South Yorkshire students.
Businesses called AdAstr, from McAuley, Rise Above from Danum School and Verus from Armthorpe School are among six shortlisted finalists .
Meryl White, Chair of South Yorkshire Young Enterprise Board said: “At the beginning of the programme the students taking part decide upon a business idea and then allocate roles for all involved to undertake in the running of the business.
“They are given support and advice to help them get the businesses off the ground.
“As ever we have been extremely impressed by the creative thought process that went into the original discussions and the range of successful businesses that have been created.”
