Take a first look inside Sheffield city centre scaffolding row apartments

Chapel Walk Apartments, on the corner of Fargate and Chapel Walk, will open next March.

Omnia will look after 48 rented apartments which range from studio size to three-bedroom and will be marketed to students and young professionals.

The Fargate Evolve Developments -owned site spent several years behind controversial scaffolding.

MD Mark Mitchell said: “Just over 12 months ago, I took over responsibility for this development and the first pledge I made was to fast-track the removal of the scaffolding for the sake of shopkeepers and shoppers in time for Christmas and we have made good that promise.”

“The benefits of city centre living in modern apartments located in the heart of Fargate’s pedestrianised shopping area are hugely appealing to many people.

“We are now announcing the availability of apartments to rent from March 2021 and the response has been fantastic.”

Omnia has now released a first look at what the apartments will look like when the first residents move in.

New campaign to save shops

“We are delighted to be adding Chapel Walk Apartments to our constantly-expanding list of block management clients,” said Omnia Operations director Amy Ryan.

“We are particularly pleased that, as a Sheffield company, we are able to add this development to our portfolio.

“As everybody knows, the site was previously a real eyesore and detrimental to both Chapel Walk and Fargate.

“But the redevelopment of this building has created many local jobs and the addition of 78 new tenants to the area will have a positive impact for surrounding businesses.

“The developers were very aware of the importance of the block and its central location and the exterior finish reflects the traditions of Fargate and compliments the street scene, while the interiors will very much meet the expectations of 21st-century tenants, with a high-quality finish throughout.”
