Motorists on the M1 near Sheffield can pull off the motorway for fish and chips instead of the usual sandwich and crisps.
Harry Ramsden’s has opened at the Welcome Break services at Woodall, creating 10 jobs.
The restaurant will open at 6am daily offering full English breakfast – and from 11.30am to 8pm will serve up a menu including Harry Ramsden’s ‘world famous’ fish and chips.
Rod McKie of Welcome Break said: “We fully expect we will be introducing Harry Ramsden’s to other Welcome Breaks.”
The first Harry Ramsden’s opened in Guiseley, West Yorkshire, almost exactly 85 years ago on December 20, 1928, making it Britain’s longest-established restaurant chain.
