Surface treatment specialist Straaltechniek UK has opened a new head office in Sheffield after investing more than £1 million at its production facilities in Ecclesfield.
The company, which makes shot and air blasting equipment and also provides laser and plasma cutting, machining, welding, fabrication and shot blasting services, has seen sales increase during the past three years.
Operations director Sarah Ward says Straaltechniek has taken on more staff to cope with the growth it had seen in sales and needed to expand its facilities for administration, sales and production staff.
The company has invested £250,000 in a new office block which includes an area where it can display the products it makes in Sheffield and meeting facilities.
Last year Straaltechniek invested more than £1 million in new CNC equipment, including lathes and machining centres laser and plasma cutting machines and a 200 tonne press brake.
The company also acquired Blastcom, a major competitor in the West Midlands.
Since then, the Made in Sheffield mark holder has won several major orders from companies such as Rolls-Royce and Castings Plc.
