Specialist medical support services company Microbiological Validation Services is on the move.
The company, founded by mother and daughter Elise Crowther and Emily Rodgers in 2003, is moving from Maltby to purpose-built premises in Cross Bedford Street, close to Sheffield city centre.
MVS employs nine people and provides a range of microbiological testing services for medical device manufacturers, packaging companies, pharmaceutical companies and NHS sterile service departments.
Services include testing clean rooms and finished medical devices for microbiological contamination and validating sterilisation processes.
Managing director Elise Crowther, who has been involved in developing legislation on manufacturing sterile medical devices since that began more than 30 years ago, said: “Even though you hear constantly that these are tough times for trading in all areas, we remain extremely confident that our continued success demanded the move.
“These are exciting times for MVS. We will be relocating our existing employees with the potential to recruit later in the year.”
MVS’s 4,500 sq ft facility was designed by Peter Noble of award winning Sheffield architectural design consultancy Coda Studios and is named Martin House after MVS director and Elise Crowther’s husband, who is a retired builder and oversaw the project.
