Students ditch bottled water

Have your say

THERE’S going to be a shortage of bottled water at The University of Sheffield students’ union… but no need to worry about a drought.

Environment-conscious students are tapping into growing concerns about recycling and the use of plastics and withdrawing sales of bottled water in all union outlets.

Instead they are increasing provision of free drinking fountains throughout the union building in Western Bank, and selling reusable water bottles in their shop. Bottled water will be off the shelves by the end of March next year.
