Strike ballot for bakery workers

Have your say

HUNDREDS of workers at a bakery near Sheffield have been balloted for strike action over proposed changes to their pay and conditions.

Staff at Gunstones, in Dronfield, could walk out after owners Two Sisters Food Group announced the changes, which include a pay freeze for this year.

Under the proposals, employees would not receive extra pay on bank holidays and would be paid less at weekends, as well as having to work flexible hours.

Ballot papers have been sent to around 800 members of the Bakers, Food and Allied Workers’ Union at Gunstones, and the vote is set to close tomorrow.
