Businesses from across the Yorkshire region have been offered the chance to bid for work on the new Rotherham United stadium.
Companies turned up in their hundreds for a Meet the Contractor event at the Magna Science Adventure Centre, organised by Rotherham United and main contractor GMI Construction.
Rotherham United chairman and ASD Lighting chief Tony Stewart said: “We have nominated the main contractor and we now wanted to give local contractors a slice of the action. It’s fantastic to see such a wide range of businesses taking the time to find out more about how they can get involved in the community stadium.”
GMI construction director Andrew Kemp said: “The team is committed to working collaboratively with local supply chains where ever possible and is pleased with the response we’ve had so far. It’s all about engaging with people and getting the best of what’s on offer.”
