Specialist food producer receives tasty honour

She’d be the first to admit that health is of primary importance in her food products - so winning two taste accolades at the ‘FreeFrom’ Food Awards is the icing on the cake.

Sultana scones and a ginger loaf - both certified wheat and gluten free - made by Sheffield’s Delicious Alchemy were commended in the competition run by the Royal College of Physicians and hosted by chef Antony Worrall Thompson.

It is a tasty victory for founder and boss Emma Killilea - a super-sensitive coeliac herself - whose promise is to sell food with fewer than 20 parts per million of gluten, a protein that can trigger immune reactions.

She said: “I’m really proud of the team.”
