A popular South Yorkshire wedding venue and hotel has been put on the market - with a juicy £7 million price tag.

Located in the trendy and affluent area of Bawtry, The Crown Hotel is a well-known name for weddings and other events.

Specialist business property adviser Christie & Co has been instructed to market the historic site.

The Crown Hotel’s General Manager, Craig Dowie, has decided to sell the property to focus on retirement after 25 years of running the hotel.

He said: “After 25 years, I am making my retirement plans, and it comes at a time when Doncaster is about to experience a massive economic boost with several large-scale openings in Doncaster including Doncaster airport.”

The Crown Hotel benefits from its all-day offerings as well as long-standing, excellent reputation and occupies a prominent position in the heart of the affluent, South Yorkshire town of Bawtry, which The Sunday Times named within the ‘Top 25 up & coming places to live’.

Along with two adjoining retail premises that offer an additional income stream, the business is also projected to have further growth due to its proximity to the likely re-opening of Doncaster Sheffield Airport.
