Smaller manufacturers are being shown how to tap into the UK’s £43 billion civil nuclear power programme by the South Yorkshire-based Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre.
The Advanced Manufacturing Park-based Nuclear AMRC has unveiled plans for a series of workshops designed to help small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to decide whether to bid for business from the £40 billion programme to build new nuclear power stations and a £2.9 billion programme to decommission plants.
It hopes to help more than 200 Yorkshire companies to prepare to join the nuclear supply chain over the next two years.
The one-day Nuclear Supply Opportunities workshops will look at the quality management, health and safety, process excellence, leadership and culture and performance and results standards leading suppliers will expect from SMEs.
Companies will get the chance to assess their readiness to bid for a place in the supply chain, and follow that with a free company review, carried out by NAMRC experts. For more information, tel: 01226 240435 or e-mail email@example.com.
