Traffic through villages to the north of Doncaster was delayed at the weekend as this massive load inched its way slowly through the borough.
A police escort stopped vehicles at junctions and on side roads as the abnormal load made its way along the A19 through Askern, Toll Bar and Bentley.
The multi-wheeled transporter was taking turbine machinery from Goole Docks to the site of the old Thorpe Marsh power station, near Barnby Dun, on Sunday morning and had come off the M62 at Whitley.
Toll Bar resident Keith Wilburn, who took this picture, said: “I think it would have been travelling at no more than five to six miles an hour, just a bit faster than walking pace. It certainly slowed traffic through the village.”
