A Sheffield area IT company has won a massive contract to supply 5,000 tablets and 4,000 laptops to Slimming World.

AAG Systems, based in Killamarsh, North Derbyshire, is set to double turnover to £10m following the transformational deal.

The tablets will be used by Slimming World consultants in its 12,000 weekly sessions for 700,000 members in the UK and Ireland.

The deal follows a two-and-a-half year project to research and design computers integrated with the Slimming World brand.

AAG Systems’ director of sales, technology and innovation, Joey Hemingbrough, said: “With the volume of equipment involved, we were able to go direct to the manufacturers in China and have the tablets produced precisely to the specification Slimming World needed, rather than that of a hardware supplier.

“Developing the tablets has involved identifying and testing hardware options, visits to the manufacturing plant and extensive due diligence exercises. We are now confident the tablets will ensure that Slimming World franchisees and members have the best hardware.”
