Sky is still the limit for scams

Have your say

SKY has long been plagued by rogue firms passing themselves off as the satellite giant.

Kathleen Childs, aged 81, received a call from someone trying to sell her ‘insurance’ for her Sky equipment for £8-a-month.

Two days later she was called again and offered a discount of £6-a-month.

Kathleen, of Bradway, rang Sky and they had no idea what she was talking about.

Sky is aware of about 40 firms involved in ‘passing off’ and has taken some to court.

Be wary if a company wants payment over the phone. If in doubt send an email or call back.

Be suspicious if the firm can’t be contacted.
