Sheffield's first teenage market rated a success

Sheffield's first teenage market, organised by the Federation of Small Businesses, attracted an estimated 10,000 visitors.

The event at the Peace Gardens last Saturday aimed to encourage young people to take their first steps in business.

It was a joint effort between Sheffield City Council, Sheffield College, Young Enterprise, the Prince’s Trust, schools and supporters and sponsors.

Louise Haigh MP championed the event.

FSB branch chairman Andrew Flower said: “Activity on the 20 stalls was brisk all day, with many young traders taking home bags full of money.”
