Sheffield web firm donates income to help charities through the crisis

A Sheffield digital company is donating five per cent of income from new work to help two charities through the lockdown crisis.

Hydra Creative has pledged half the cash to St Luke's Hospice, the agency’s Charity of the Year 2020 and the other half will go to NHS Charities Together.

The firm, based on Chesterfield Road, specialises in website and graphic design.

Boss Ryan Daniels said they were still working and passionate about helping charities which had been hit hard.

He added: “This is an extremely difficult time for all businesses – and even more so for charities who have seen a significant portion of their income disappear almost overnight.

“Without income, charities are unable to continue to provide the essential support and services that so many people rely on.

“As a digital agency, we are very lucky and privileged to be able to continue working through this crisis, albeit with all the team working from home, and so we knew that we had to use our position to help others wherever possible.

“As well as donating money to our chosen charities, we are also supporting the general business community through providing free digital marketing advice and strategy, which has had a great take-up so far from businesses who are struggling to see a way out of this.

“We are just a tiny part of a much larger network of businesses and organisations who are stepping up to support the economy, society and our NHS, but together we can make a real difference.”
