Twenty pubs and clubs have signed up to help end sexual harassment in Sheffield.
The Good Night Out campaign aims to stop the sexual harassment of women - as well as lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people - on nights out in the city.
It focuses on common forms of harassment that have become ‘normal’ in pubs and clubs such as groping, leering and inappropriate touching or comments.
Participating venues have committed to a zero-tolerance approach, and the campaign will launch in Sheffield on September 29 to coincide with freshers week.
Sheffield University students’ union women’s officer Miriam Miller added: “We are affiliating with the Good Night Out scheme, which also offers training to staff in how to handle harassment complaints.”
