Unit 2 at the Old Barracks on Lancing Street in Highfield is allegedly being used as a pornography set where forms of BDSM - bondage, domination, sadism and masochism - are filmed.

One woman, who did not want to be named, said she and other residents were horrified that such 'shocking’ acts were happening in their neighbourhood.

She said: “This is unacceptable in a residential area and people living nearby, especially those with children, really don't want this on their doorstep.

“It's irresponsible of the landlord, the police and the council to allow this.

“For the sake of the local community, this can not be allowed to continue. There is an urgent need for greater control and enforcement in the area.”

The woman who allegedly operates from the premises goes by the name of Lady Dark Angel on Twitter.

She describes herself as an ‘elite sadist and seductress’ and operates a website and separate sites where videos are sold.

The videos are too explicit to be described.

People who work at neighbouring businesses said they thought the unit was used as a gym or a craft workshop, but the woman said it had recently been taken over by the sex workers.

“My husband heard a group of men talking graphically about the activities at the unit,” she added.

“They referred to ‘group sex parties where several sex workers perform indecent acts with several men at the same time’.

“It needs closing down and those responsible held to account.”

When asked for comment, the owners of the building, James Holland Properties Ltd, said they were satisfied there was no illegal activity at the unit.

He did, however, confirm that the unit was being used for the purpose of 'adult photography and modelling’.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said the local policing team had no knowledge of the premises and the force had received no reports from the site.

And a spokesperson for Sheffield Council said neither licensing nor environmental health had received any complaints.
