Global Pharmacy on London Road has seen a surge in demand for home deliveries from vulnerable patients affected by Covid-19 and the lockdown.

In response, it has expanded its free services.

Boss Sahar Zafar-Fazely set up the business with his sister Nadia two years ago. Today it serves patients at home and residential and nursing homes in and around Sheffield.

He said: “As a small family-run business we want to give back and help our community as much as possible during these tough times.

“This is why we have not only extended our delivery times, but also taken on more drivers to provide a free delivery service from Monday to Saturday to anyone throughout Sheffield.

“This should really help the vulnerable, as we are well aware due to such high demand, a lot of pharmacies have had to cut back on patient deliveries and many are even charging for this service.

“We really want to help as many people as we can and if this service is of any benefit to anyone we would be grateful if this message can be passed on.”

Global dispenses NHS prescriptions (paper and electronic) and gives advice on medicines. It says it can also dispense repeat prescriptions and supply a regular prescribed

medicine in an emergency, if a patient is unable to contact their doctor, in some circumstances.
