Birley Moor Garden Centre was among hundreds of garden centres across the country to bounce back into business this morning after an easing of lockdown restrictions.

Revealing the changes made on its Facebook page, the store is now marked out with black and yellow arrows taped to the floor as well as lines to keep customers two metres apart under social distancing rule.

A post on the Mosborough centre’s Facebook page said: “The shop is now open to the public. We have guidelines in place for our staff and customers. Please be patient as we all get used to this new normal.”

Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Monday that garden centres could re-open as part of easing of the coronavirus lockdown restrictions.
