Sheffield Council agrees full fibre internet rollout

The network will be available to over 5,400 council homes.

Sheffield Council will be supporting the rollout with an voucher scheme that allows 540 tenants and leaseholders to access Hyperoptic's 50Mb free for 12 months.

Hyperoptic has been live in Sheffield since 2015. Its services are already live across 3,500 private homes across the city. Deployment will start across the social housing stock in the coming months.

Full fibre is the gold standard of broadband. Currently just 12% of homes in Britain have access to full fibre. With full fibre broadband, users have a consistent and fast broadband experience, no matter how many people in the home are connected or what time of day it is.
