SAVING plan specialist Sheffield Mutual is to donate more than £15,000 a year to charity.

Three charities in South Yorkshire – WRVS, Support Dogs and Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice – will each receive at least £5,000 a year over three years.

Funding for WRVS will help expand its Good Neighbours Service in Sheffield and help increasing volunteers to 40.

The funds will also help to provide one new support dog a year.

Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice will be able to buy and maintain vital medical equipment used for looking after children at the hospice.

Sheffield Mutual chief executive Tony Burdin said: “The Society has a long history of community involvement and we wanted to help good causes in the course of doing business.”
