Sheffield-based UniHomes wins prestigious national award

UniHomes, the UK's go-to platform for all-inclusive student accommodation, is proud to announce that its in-house SEO team has won the ‘Best Use of Search – Real Estate & Property: Large’ at the highly coveted UK Search Awards 2025.
The event was held at The Bloomsbury Big Top, London, with the award recognising the team’s market-leading innovation in evolving visibility in Google Search, most notably through the launch of its unique Content Ambassador Programme, to drive enquiries for partner letting agents, and help more students find their perfect home.
“We’re absolutely delighted to win this award. This is a special moment as it celebrates more than SEO success, but how we’re giving students a voice, supporting aspiring student writers and strengthening UniHomes’ position as a trusted platform,” Lian Chambers, UniHomes head of marketing, said.
The UK Search Awards are regarded as the ultimate accolade of excellence in SEO, PPC and content marketing. Winning such an award is a significant milestone for UniHomes’ newly established in-house SEO team.
As UniHomes’ first dedicated in-house SEO team, the challenge was clear: accelerate performance across all SEO channels ahead of the new letting season. The team delivered a transformative strategy, a cornerstone of which was the launch of the Content Ambassador Programme, whereby current students act as local correspondents to produce authentic guides and insights for their respective cities.
The content added value to students’ house-hunting journey, helping to attract them to the UniHomes platform, keep them engaged and build trust in the brand, while futureproofing the site for visibility in AI search through highly citable content.
The judges commended the team’s exceptional creativity in leveraging student writers to create authentic content, as well as the multi-faceted approach taken combining content, technical SEO and more. They also recognised the strong content quality of the Content Ambassador Programme.
“From the initial spark of an idea, through to execution and ongoing evolution, we’re thrilled with the impact and performance of our SEO strategy,” Lian added.
She continued: “This award affirms our effectiveness in reaching and strengthening our connection with our student audience, along with the creativity and passion for meaningful content, and unwavering student-first thinking.
“We’re delighted to be recognised amongst such high-calibre and high-level peers from across various industries - here’s to continuing to innovate, inspire, and engage.”
