Trainee Alex Nicholson has become the seventh lawyer in a row from DLA Piper’s Sheffield office to win Sheffield Law Society’s Sidney Herbert-Clay prize.
The prize goes to the student who gets the highest marks on Sheffield University’s Legal Practice Course and then works in the Sheffield region.
All but one of the DLA Piper trainees who have won the Sidney Herbert-Clay prize during the last seven years are still working at the firm’s Yorkshire offices
Alex, 23, who is currently in the real estate team of the Sheffield office as part of his two year training contract, received his award at the Sheffield Law Society Dinner.
Duncan Mosley, the partner leading the trainee programme at DLA Piper’s Sheffield office, said: “DLA Piper is extremely proud of its heritage in Sheffield and remains committed to nurturing the best talent the city has to offer.
“Our trainees are our future and we will continue to offer them the development and support they deserve as they start out in their legal careers.”
