BOSSES at Robin Hood Airport are expecting a boost in passenger numbers thanks to the Royal Wedding.

Directors at the site in Finningley say they are looking at an increase in flight bookings between April 22 and May 2, including flights to the Costa Del Sol and Cyprus.

Mike Morton, airport director said: “Each year we see an increase in bookings over Easter due to the Bank Holidays, so with the extra day, we expect to see even more people taking off from the airport in search of a spring break.”

The Government announced an extra bank holiday to mark the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton on Friday, April 29, at Westminster Abbey in London.
