The brothers who built the Meadowhall shopping centre have been named as the richest people in Yorkshire in this year’s Sunday Times Rich List.
Eddie and Malcolm Healey have amassed a joint fortune of a staggering £1.5 billion, making them the 59th richest people in the UK.
The brothers have seen their wealth grow by £200 million in the last year alone.

When it opened in 1991 Meadowhall was the largest shopping mall in the country.
Eddie, 77, made £420 million from the sale of the shopping centre some years ago.

He also developed Centro, Europe’s largest shopping centre in Germany.

Last year he sold his Parc Trostre retail park, near Llanelli in Wales, for £156 million.
His side of the family are now worth £950m, with his son, Mark, holding £250m of wind farm assets in Scotland.
Eddie Healey’s brother Malcolm, 70, made his money from building and selling Hygena Kitchens in Britain and then America.
