Renishaw financial planner quizzed over leadership skills

Jillian Thomas, managing director of Future Life Wealth Management, Ravenshorn Way, Renishaw, was invited onto an episode of the podcast created by the Leaders Council of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. which is talking to business leaders in an attempt to understand leadership.

The recording also includes an interview with former Home Secretary Lord Blunkett, who served as Sheffield Brightside MP from 1987-2015.

Ms Thomas said: “I was delighted to have been asked to take part in such a prestigious podcast.

“I only hope some of my words help other leaders.”

Podcast host Matthew O’Neill asked Ms Thomas and Lord Blunkett a series of questions about leadership and the role it has played in their careers to date.

He said: “Hosting a show like this, where you speak to genuine leaders who have been there and done it, either on a national stage or within a crucial industry sector, is an absolute honour.”

Lord Blunkett, Leaders Council chairman, said: “I think the most informative element of each episode is the first part, where Matthew is able to sit down with someone who really gets how their industry works and knows how to make their organisation tick, someone who’s there day in day out working hard and inspiring others – that’s what leadership is all about.”

Ms Thomas has also just been shortlisted for the businesswoman of the year title at the East Midlands Chamber’s Enterprising Women awards 2020.
