Recycling firm in Sheffield spotlight

Have your say

A SHEFFIELD enterprise which employs ex-offenders and the long term unemployed is being showcased to Sheffield University business studies students as a good example in its field.

Sova Recycling, which offers an environmentally friendly way to get rid of household bulky waste, will be visited by 25 students who are keen to hear how the social enterprise has achieved so much.

In December last year Sova Recycling was awarded the contract to manage Sheffield’s five Household Waste Recycling Centres.

Operations director Stephen Bennett said: “We aim to be able to compete with the main players - the only difference is that our focus is people and the environment, and not profit.”
