Pupils rise to a tasty challenge

Have your say

Pupils from schools in South and West Yorkshire are competing to see whether they have got what it takes to create the next ‘Great British Dessert.’

The 13 and 14 year-olds are setting up their own mini-manufacturing businesses and designing a new sweet treat to celebrate either the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee or the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

They are also being challenged to create a system that will safely and easily move eggs around the largest cake factory in Europe - Premier Foods’ manufacturing plant in Barnsley.

The contest is part of the Premier Foods Make It Enterprising Challenge.
