Pupils at Ballifield Primary School in Handsworth, Sheffield, celebrated their harvest festival by supporting a charity for homeless young people.

The children were asked to bring tinned food to their annual autumn celebration and the items were then presented to Roundabout, which runs the only emergency hostel in the city for young homeless people aged 16 to 21.

The charity’s fundraising co-ordinator Amy Casbolt said: “As we all know, food can be extremely expensive, so donations such as these make a huge difference to the young people we support who often rely on food banks and regularly go hungry.”
