Real estate developer Scarborough Group International says work on the eight-storey ‘Endeavour’ building on Sheaf Street will start this quarter and is set to be finished in spring 2022.
It will have room for up to 800 workers but the design has been ‘modified’ due to the pandemic with fewer touch points and a rise in ‘agile working’ and more people working from home for some of the week.

Endeavour is being built speculatively - with no tenants signed up.
Adam Varley, head of commercial at SGI, said it was a major vote of confidence in Sheffield city centre.
He added: “The scheme clearly supports an ongoing demand for new, high quality, and flexible accommodation in the city centre, and whilst the way we work is evolving in light of the pandemic and accelerated digital transformation, the office still serves a valuable purpose for team cohesion, motivation and productivity.”

Planning for the block was obtained in 2016 and bosses at Scarborough said two years ago they were talking to a potential occupier for the entire building.
Previously called Vidrio, it has been renamed Endeavour.
It is being paid for by Scarborough, a pension fund and Singapore-based funders Metro.
