£250,000 for flood-hit firms

Rotherham Council has set aside £250,000 to help flood-hit small firms in the area.

The cash is available in the form of single payments of 750.

Tim O’Connell of Rotherham Investment & Development Office (RiDO) said: “The costs incurred by the floods will be on-going and often unforeseeable so they may not be covered by insurance arrangements.

“This one-off grant will be paid regardless of any other claims made or grants applied for and will help businesses recover from the loss of income and turnover during the worst times in June.”
