PPI claim bill wrangle

Have your say

A SHEFFIELD man had two reasons to regret hiring a PPI claims company after it charged a hefty sum and hired debt collectors to chase fees that had been paid.

Michael Ogden gave Charterhouse Claims £120 after it reclaimed payment protection insurance he paid on an old loan. But after he paid the sum in June the company continued to chase him.

It then hired debt collectors Lawton Hathaway which sent a series of warnings.

Michael, of Donovan Close, Southey Green, said: “Help. They just won’t listen.”

CHARTERHOUSE Claims has sent Michael £20 and an apology. It says the payment came through without a reference and was held in a suspense account. It says invoices were duplicated due to a ‘system error.’
