Four Corners Canteen on Abbeydale Road, which is a street food canteen and brew house offering dishes from around the world, said its closure was due to a ‘case of Covid in the cafe’.

It closed on Thursday and initially planned to re-open the following day, but in a U-turn move it was then announced that the venue will now remain closed until it receives ‘further guidance from the relevant authorities’.

In a Facebook post, the cafe said: “Due to a case of Covid in the cafe, to be as safe as possible for staff and our customers we have decided to close until we receive further guidance from the relevant authorities.

“This is not something we have been told to do but feel it is the best option for now.

“We hope that we can open back up as soon as possible.”
