Plans lodged for Amazon sign at unit on Sheffield Rotherham border

A planning application has been lodged for advertising consent for Amazon signs at a unit on the border of Sheffield and Rotherham.

The retail giant has applied to Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council for a number of signs at a unit at Innovation Way off Retford Road/Sheffield Road, close to Swallownest and Woodhouse.

The application seeks consent for non-illuminated signs at unit four of the park, and Amazon Fresh is named as the client on the documents.

Planning documents state: “The application seeks advertisement consent for an ‘Amazon Flex’ and two loading bay number signage.”

A separate application for the same unit seeks permission for additional car parking, pedestrian walkways and ancillary infrastructure.”

The application states: “The proposed development seeks to make minor changes to the approved development in order to meet the operational requirements of a prospective occupier who is seeking to operate a last mile logistics facility from the unit.”
