South Yorkshire parents who are going through a separation can still access free legal help and advice after April 1 thanks to government funding.

The Working Together for Children pilot project aims to help the region’s parents sort out problems amicably after separation.

After running for two years, the pilot is set to get a six-month extension to September 30.

Sue Colven, of Howells Solicitors, said: “The project has proved to be very successful, helping over 1450 parents over the last two years.”
