Harland Café, on John Street, near Bramall Lane, was the city’s number one rated restaurant for ‘quick bites’ on TripAdvisor and was in the top five for breakfast and brunch.
But it was revealed on Friday that the business had gone into liquidation as businesses across the city continue to suffer during the coronavirus lockdown.

“It is all very well asking businesses to continue paying staff with help from the furlough scheme but there are so many other overheads like rent and untilities,” Steve said.
“Unfortunately it was inevitable we would have to close our doors.”
The café was a popular spot for fans heading to matches at nearby Bramall Lane and Steve says it was also frequented by Sheffield Central MP Paul Blomfield and members of Sheffield band Reverend and the Makers before they went on tour.

“It was a vibrant business and we had a great relationship with major businesses like Sheffield United and Go Outdoors.”
Steve says he has already got a part-time job and said he was looking to the future as much as possible.
When the news was first revealed on Facebook on Friday it was met with dismay by customers.

“We truly hope you can bounce back in whatever way is best for you.”
