Sheffield mechanical testing business NDT has been acquired in a management buy out by Tim Elwell.
Tim, (pictured left) who joined the 57-year-old business in 1991, now owns 100 per cent of the shares after buying out fellow co-managing director Peter Firth (centre), who is leaving the business he acquired from his father, Ray, in 2008. NDT, which began life as Industrial Radiography at Cricket Inn Road, now employs 45 people at nearby Maltravers Road, Wybourn. It works in sectors including power, transport, and aerospace.
The deal was structured by Wes Scales (right) of accountants Mark J Rees, which has worked with the business for 30 years.
