Sheffield’s fashion scene has a new addition as Tony Ball – a well-known local hairdresser with five decades in the industry – opens his first men’s clothing outlet, Blokes, in the popular Noa’s Arc complex at Dyson Place.

The stylish new outlet builds on the success of his wife Irene Ball’s boutique, Frocks, just around the corner on Sharrowvale Road.

While Frocks has become a go-to destination for women looking for comfortable yet edgy fashion, Blokes brings the same sense of personality and flair to men’s style – offering new, stylish menswear with a twist at accessible prices.

Tony, who continues to work part-time as a hairdresser on Sharrowvale Road at HYPE, says the new venture felt like a natural next step.

He said: “After fifty years in hairdressing, I’ve always loved helping people look their best. Blokes is about giving men that same confidence through what they wear – clothes that feel good, fit well and have a bit of individuality. I’ve always believed that looking good isn’t about age or fashion rules – it’s about finding your own style and wearing it with confidence. That’s exactly what I want this shop to be about.”

With its carefully chosen range and relaxed atmosphere, Blokes is set to become a firm favourite among Sheffield’s independent shopping community.
