The Park Inn hotel in Sheffield has been bought out of administration and renamed The Sheffield Metropolitan –the first step in developing the property into the largest independent hotel in the city.

The 111-bedroom hotel on Blonk Street in the Quayside Quarter will be operated by hotel management company Bespoke Hotels.

All former Park Inn employees have been retained, including manager Ian Slater, who has been with the hotel since 1999.

There will be a programme of renovation and refurbishment of the hotel front and the associated petrol station.

Ian said: “The Met will stand out from the crowd for its bespoke approach to customers.”
