New business club targets Sheffield’s self-employed mums

Self-employed mums across Sheffield now have the opportunity to work together alongside other like-minded women thanks to the launch of a brand new business club in the city.

The Women to Work Business Club aims to address some of the challenging issues working mums can face when working flexibly but alone at home.

Club members may find working from home to be lonely or isolating, may like to connect with other like-minded women or who want to be in a stimulating and sharing environment to run or grow their business.

The club is the brainchild of Emma Shute and Jenny Pollock, two working mums.

Emma said: “We launched the Women to Work scheme earlier this year and have been really pleased with the response from mums across Sheffield.

“Our aim is to help and support women looking to return to work or to start or grow their own business. We have run a number of successful drop-in sessions and the discussions we have had told us the next logical step for us was to set up the club.

“We have teamed up with The Showroom Workstation which gives us a great facility to deliver our coaching sessions and workshops.”

The club will give mums access to affordable shared office space in the city centre, as well as access to coaching sessions, workshops and networking opportunities.

“We’re confident that the Business Club will be very well received by our members,” added Emma.
