Corporate lawyers from Sheffield have played a key role in enabling Paris Metro transport group RATP to buy Manchester’s Metrolink tram network.

Lawyers from Nabarro’s Victoria Quays offices joined forces with colleagues from London to act on behalf of RATP subsidiary, RATP Développement, which has subsidiaries in France Italy, Algeria, Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea, India and the US.

RATP owns the Bath Bus Company and this year acquired London United Busways and Bournemouth Transport, with Nabarro’s help.

The Nabarro team was led by corporate partners Clare Grayston and Ben Hendry and senior associate Gareth Saynor.

Clare Grayston said: “The expertise of our Sheffield office has been invaluable in leading this major acquisition for RATP Développement. It is always a pleasure to build on a close relationship with an existing client in support of their strategic goals.”
