Meadowhall's struggles revealed by empty units in Sheffield shopping centre

Meadowhall is a stunning success by any measure but it still faces a constant battle to fill space.

In recent times this has intensified due to retailers going bust, the pandemic and the cost of living crisis. And just like any other shopping area it has empty units that are a bit stuck.

Have a look at the mega-mall's empty spaces.

The other big one. Two-storey unit adjacent to Debenhams at the end of Park Lane, also empty for more than a year. It's understood the Winter Wonderland Christmas attraction is going in here to drive footfall at this, the 'quiet end'.
